Ethel Virginia Joyner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ethel Virginia Joyner , was born in Northampton County, North Carolina on May 29, 1926 to the late Henry and Annie P. Joyner. She departed this life on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home in Severn, North Carolina. Ethel attended school in Northampton County. She joined Zoar Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Severn First Baptist Church, Severn North Carolina where she remained an active and faithful member of the church. She was the youngest of ten children: Thomas Joyner (Irene), Fred Joyner (Emma), Jessie Joyner (Francis) Henry Paul Joyner (Doris Mae), Elmo Joyner (Francis), Clarine Joyner King (Wooster), Roxie Joyner, Rozella Branch and Ollie Venison, all who preceded her in death. Others who preceded her in death were; two sons; Earl and Dewayne Joyner; and two daughter, Rosa Mae and Katherine Joyner. Ethel was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She had a giving heart and bought joy to all who were in her presence. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking and a good conversation. Ethel leaves to cherish her loving memories; two sons: Lawrence Joyner (Essie) Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and Stanley Joyner (Mary Ann) Tarboro North Carolina; seven daughters; Loisteen Ponton (Bill) Seaboard, North Carolina, Sandra Joyner, Glenace Joyner, and Minester Joyner Thomas (William) all of Conway, North Carolina, JoAnn Joyner-Loyd (Gregory) Irving Texas, Joangelia Joyner, and Paula Joyner, both of Severn North Carolina. Her extended family includes a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
