Kenny Dwayne Watford was born on February 1,1960, to the Union of James and Earleen Watford of Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Kenny D. Watford departed this life on June 24, 2022 at his home in Cofield, North Carolina. Kenny was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He joined Mt. Moriah at an early age and has remained a faithful member. He loved to sing for the Lord and even had the pleasure to sing with his favorite group The Sensational Nightingales. He drove tractor trailer trucks for various trucking companies throughout the years and was last employed at Northrop Grumman Huntington Ingalls Shipyard in Newport News, Virginia as an Outside Machinist until he became disabled. In 1998 Kenny met and married the love of his life Esther Mizelle-Mason. She was a devoted wife that loved and took care of him throughout his illness. To this union one child was born, Katrina Watford. Esther and Kenny shared twenty-three years of love and marriage together. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, James Watford, daughter Kenita Watford-Mitchell, brother in love (cousin) Kevin Newsome, and aunt, Clarice Smith. Kenny leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Esther Watford of the home, his mother Earleen Watford of Murfreesboro, NC, his brother James Anthony Watford of Ahoskie, NC, two aunts, Ruby Mae Bishop of Como, NC and Rose Eley of Boston, MA, one brother-in-law Gilbert Duffin of Harrisburg, PA, two sisters-in-law Faye Duffin of Harrisburg, PA, and Loudette Newsome of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, six children, Maurice Williams (Shosana) of Murfreesboro, NC, Rakendria Watford-Spruill (Antwan) of Cofield, NC, Katrina Watford of Cofield, NC, Albert Mason, Jr. of Newport News, VA, Samuel Mason (Belinda) of Midlothian, VA, and Nicole Mason-Smith (Ernest) of Cofield, NC. Six grandchildren, Rhamonte Smith of Cofield, NC, Antwan Spruill, Jr of Cofield, NC, Nygil Spruill of Cofield, NC, Gabriella (Gabby) Mitchell of Wake Forest, NC, Uriah and Uri Mason of Midlothian, VA.; and two special cousins Michelle Parks of Ahoskie, NC and Amy Parks of Murfreesboro, NC and a host of other loving and special family and friends.
