Deacon Moses Brown was born on May 27, 1947, in McCormick, South Carolina. His parents were Daniel and Evelyn Bussey who preceded him in death, as well as an only sister; Jacqueline Jennings. Moses was known to family and friends as Moe. Deacon Moses Brown departed his earthly life on Friday morning March 19, 2021, at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, North Carolina. Deacon Moses Brown attended McCormick Elementary School in South Carolina and graduated from Stingarn High School, Washington, DC in 1967. Also in 1967, Moses meet Warnder Boone in Washington, DC and they were married in May 1969. In 1971 to this union one son, Kenneth Brown was born. In 1973 Moses and Warnder settled in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. Moses and Wander attended Second Baptist Creeksville Church and later joined. Moses Brown became a Deacon in January 1988 under the leadership of Reverend Frank Lee. Deacon Moses Brown worked at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, Newport News, Virginia for 40 plus years. Deacon Moses Brown was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife, Warnder Boone Brown of 52 years; a loving son, Kenneth Brown (wife Tamecus); grandchildren Kema, Sean, David; and three foster children all of Houston, TX; an adopted brother, James Gilchrist (wife, Marshal) of Washington, DC; a brother-in-law Albert Boone (wife, Armintha) of Murfreesboro, NC, a dear cousin Martha Brown (husband, Whit) of McCormick, South Carolina; Second Baptist Creeksville Church family; and a host of relatives and friends.
