Ronald Earl "Ron G' Long

May 17, 1964 - January 24, 2022

Ronald Earl Long, better known to family and friends as “Ron G ” or “Uncle Buck ” was born to James Albert Long, Sr., and Margaret Idell Long in Conway, NC on March 17, 1964. He departed this life on January 24, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Ronald gave his life to Christ and sang in the choir at an early age. He received his education in Hertford County Public Schools and later received his GED from Roanoke Chowan Community College. Ron G loved to joke, laugh, sing, dance, and just have a good time. He was always the life of the party and had a passion for music. He loved listening to and playing music by beating and tapping on anything he could get his hands on. He loved being outdoors and loved to stay active. Over the years he learned many trades and worked in many professions including Perdue Farms, Smithfield Packing, Narricot Industries, boat factory, roofing/construction work, yard work, and others. His passion was vehicle detailing and he could clean a car like nobody's business. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and loved ones. Ronald loved a good pot of navy beans and enjoyed hosting and attending fish fry’s and cookouts with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father James A. Long Sr. and his son Antonio Montez Barnes Long. Remaining to cherish his loving memories are his mother, Margaret Idell Long; 5 children, Shanita Davis (Margarettsville, NC), Tamiko Davis and Zakelya Stephenson (Woodland, NC), Clifton Davis (Greensboro, NC), and Pershel Davis (Paterson, NJ); 17 Grandchildren, and 1 Great-grandchild; siblings include: Deloisteen Cherry (James) of Woodland, NC; Eugene Long (Gloria) of Murfreesboro; Helen Britt (Rickey), James Long Jr. (Sandra), and Brenda Hill (Tyris) all from Como, NC. As well as a special friend, Mary Ann Chism, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
