Angela Dianne Welch

Angela, also affectionately known as Angie, was born on September 14, 1957, in Edenton, North Carolina, to the late Ethel Brinkley Eason and Lester Ridley Welch. She was also preceded in death by Rev Charlie A. Eason, who reared her as his own child after marrying her mother; a step brother, Michael Eason; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Eason and Juanita Welch. As a young child, Angie and her siblings traveled from church to church with their father. She was a believer of Jesus Christ and loved the Lord. She loved to use her soprano voice to sing right from the pew, but she would never join the choir. Angela graduated from Gates County High School in 1976. She was known to be very quiet, always smiling, and always laughing. Angie was a kind-hearted person. She was very humble and didn't speak ill of anyone. She would just say *Anyway* when you tried to talk to her about someone. More of us should strive to be like her. Eventually, Angie found her calling and decided to go to school to become a certified nursing assistant. She worked for many years at several nursing homes, including Britthaven in Edenton, North Carolina and Brian Center in Hertford, North Carolina. Angie loved being a servant. She always told stories about her patients, and many of her patients adored her. Eventually the roles reversed for Angie. She became the patient when she had to begin dialysis. She was on dialysis for many years, but continued to smile and laugh, as she went through this tiresome process, until God called her to rest on Saturday, September 24, 2022, around two o'clock in the morning. Angela loved to cook. She learned so much from her mother. She could make a mean potato salad and banana pudding. Her brothers will certainly miss those dishes. She enjoyed her television shows as well, such as MASH, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, talk shows, and her stories. Most of all, Angie loved to read, especially her Harlequin Romances. We couldn't begin to count the numerous books she had. Angie leaves the following behind to cherish her memory: one sister: Christine Reid (Thomas) of Tyner, North Carolina, four brothers: Charles Welch (Elaine) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Richardo Eason (Denise) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rainey Eason of Sunbury, North Carolina, and Charlton Eason of Archdale, North Carolina. She was also blessed with two step brothers and one step sister, who she was reared with; Rev. Dr. Christopher Eason (Carolyn) of Sunbury, North Carolina, and Neal Eric Eason (Michelle) of Courtland, Virginia., and Rosalind Denise Eason of Newport News, Virginia. She also leaves behind three aunts, Annie Brinkley, Irene Downing, and Sheila Brinkley of Hertford, North Carolina, an uncle, William Brinkley, of Hertford, North Carolina, special cousins, Jesse Britt and Marion Byrd of Corapeake, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
