Gloria Maxine Tann

Gloria Maxine Tann, daughter of the late Anneice B. Tann and James A (Foot) Tann was born on Wednesday, May 31, 1950 in Conway, North Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Gloria was baptized at the age of ten by the late Dr. C. Melvin Creecy at Nebo Baptist Church where she remained a member. Gloria attended the WS Creecy High School in Rich Squire, North Carolina, and was a member of the class of 1968. After high school, she relocated to Washington, District of Colombia and attended Business School. She was employed by Woodward and Lothrop Department Store as a Financial Secretary and was in control of the company vault. She was also a Fashion Model for the company. Gloria returned to Murfreesboro, North Carolina and operated the family business, Tann's Florist. She also worked for Hertford County Public Schools as a bus driver and for CPTA as a bus driver. Gloria loved to ride, and had her own driving skills like the professional race car drivers. She had many hobbies. She enjoyed floral designing and had a green thumb. She was a roster, Flamingos and cookbook collector. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and brother, Otis J. Tann. The life of Gloria Maxine Tann will be cherished by her three children; James A. Taylor of Landover, Maryland, Monica T. Williams (Robert) of Ahoskie, North Carolina, and Stacy Tann of Murfreesboro, North Carolina; her grandchildren, G'Vashero Ingram of Lewiston, North Carolina, and Jaheim Williams of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; her sisters, Glenda M. Lawrence (Willie) of Woodland, North Carolina, and G. Marion Faison of Murfreesboro, North Carolina; her brothers, Alvin B. Tann of Potecasi, North Carolina, and Rickey B. Tann (Willie Mae) of Murfreesboro, North Carolina; her aunts, Ola Mae Boone of Conway, North Carolina, Theola Martin of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Connie Christan of Hopewell, Virginia, and Rebecca Moore of Franklin, Virginia; her uncle, Randolph Grant of Fort Washington, Maryland; nine nieces, six nephews, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, many cousins and friends.
