Gregory A Smith

Gregory A. Smith, "Greg" was called to his Heavenly Home on October 3, 2022. He was born on May 3, 1984 in Greenville, NC to James and Pattie Ann Smith of Como, NC. Greg attended Hertford County Public Schools and later obtained his GED from the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges. He then attended Roanoke-Chowan Community College. Greg who lovingly referred to himself as "G", lived in Como, NC most of his life. He was employed at multiple places during his work career and also operated Mr. & Mrs. Smith Boutique, LLC. Greg was an important and reliable member of his community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who called on him. He had a loving, respectful, and caring spirit towards everyone that he came in contact with. His last words to people would be "I Love You" Greg's passion was loving his wife, Tamona, making others happy, making beats to songs, and being active with his children He could make any party lively by just being Greg. One day before his death, Greg rededicated his life to Christ. Greg was preceded in death by his favorite aunties, Betty Jean and Betty Jane. Greg leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of two years, Tamona Joyner Smith; six children Ny'Asia and Ginayah Smith of Petersburg VA, Ke'Marion Mitchell, De'Vonna Whitehead, Jeffrey Greene and Adrain Sawyer all of Woodland, NC; two loving grandmothers, Carrie Vaughn and Laura Smith both of Como, NC; his parents James Sr. and Pattie Ann Smith of Como, NC; a special mother, Aretha Joyner of Woodland, NC; a god-mother, Rosa Sims of Murfreesboro, NC; his siblings, Chiniqua Kelly (Mitch) of Murfreesboro, NC, James Smith Jr. (Ola) of Como, NC, Kai Smith of Como, NC, Shyheiem Vaughn of VA, Khalil Vaughn of Tarboro, NC, Desmond Smith of Raleigh, NC, Demonte Smith of Lewiston, NC, Jayayla Smith, of Emporia, VA; Jeffrey White,of Woodland, NC, Davion Joyner of Jacksonville, FL, Ke'Asia Joyner of Conway, NC, and Kel'Vonna Hoggard of Conway, NC; twelve great-aunts, two great uncles, six aunts, eight uncles, (cousins of encouragement) Don and Tiffany Long; a special nephew, Trey; special friends who consisted of his childhood friends; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
